In the Vallée de Joux, renowned from the late eighteenth century as much for its music boxes as for its minute repeater calibers, the mastery of sound remains a well-established tradition. With more than 100 minute repeaters designed before 1900, Jaeger-LeCoultre quickly developed true expertise in chiming mechanisms. In 1950, the Grande Maison created the first Memovox alarm clock, literally “the voice of memory.” After combining useful functions in the Memovox Parking and Memovox International, the watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre have continued this heritage by inventing a new function, the timer. Available exclusively in boutiques, the Master Control Memovox Timer is a limited series of 250 editions.

At the heart of the first Memovox models designed between 1950 and 1960, the alarm mechanism featured a hammer, which struck the base of the watch case-back. Emitting a sound reminiscent of chirping crickets, the first generation of this chime is gradually being replaced by a school bell "dring," made recognizable by its rich and balanced melody. The great innovation of the Master Control Memovox Timer lies in its open case-back, revealing the new generation Memovox Automatic caliber and its innovative peripheral bells. The open case-back of the watch reveals the play of the hammer on the bell, highlighting the complexity of the model as well as the degree of finish of its caliber.
To wear the new Master Control Memovox Timer means not only to master time, but to predict and anticipate it. The timepiece can now be adjusted in two ways: Either by means of its iconic triangle to set the alarm time (useful as an alarm clock, to mark the end of a meeting, a new appointment); or by means of its unique timer, the hand of which ends with a red Jaeger-LeCoultre logo that stands out at first glimpse. A function to measure the time you have left before catching a train, a plane... And to complement this useful function, an elegant and racy design. At the center of the Memovox Timer Master Control, the Memovox disc stands out clearly with its engraved numerals and micro-billed finish, inferring the model with relief and depth. The sunray-brushed dial features different shades of intense blue. The petrol blue present at the heart of the timepiece is echoed by two successive waves of lighter, almost translucent blue.
